Services
People develop attachments to pieces of furniture for different reasons - some pieces have family history, some suit a particular room, some just feel right.
But like all pieces eventually they need some TLC.
Herringbone will take your favourite piece and reupholster it for you - maybe just a simple top cover replacement, or a total rework is required, with the piece being stripped back to the frame.
Ottomans provide useful storage in any bedroom, and come in many styles and sizes.
The grey Ottoman shown here perfectly complements the dark wood four poster bed and is an example of an auction purchase that has been fully restored retaining the original horsehair padding, brought back to life with the addition of a beautiful fabric.

Upholstery training is taught by Jan at our purpose built workshop in Almondbury under the name of Manorhouse School of Upholstery.
We are only a mile from Huddersfield town centre and are easy to find with plenty of parking onsite.
Jan is City and Guild qualified and previously taught upholstery courses and sewing courses for Kirklees College.
Students work in small groups, with mixed abilities and ages.
New students are encouraged to begin with a small item of furniture such as a drop in seat, a small footstool, or even a headboard.

We sometimes allow students to join part way through a block of classes and to pay pro rata fees for the remainder of the block.
If you are interested in joining an existing class call or send a text message to Jan on 07951 741965.
