Curtains Made For You
I've been making curtains and Roman blinds for more than 30 years, and set up Curtains Made For You here in the Cotswolds in 2008. I am proud to offer a very high quality of service and a professional standard of workmanship. As a result, I have some very happy customers! Made-to-measure, hand-finished curtains and blinds, alterations and accessories in Gloucestershire - with the personal touch!

10% of my business profit goes to a project which provides tailoring and small business training to young street girls in Harare, Zimbabwe find out more. I provide personal, hand-finished and made-to-measure curtains and blinds for customers who already have their curtain fabric (we supply linings). I am also more than happy to alter existing curtains and blinds, and make a wide range of accessories including pelmets, tie-backs, cushions, beanbags and seat pads.

I am happy to offer customers the advice they need to make the best decisions for their home. I can help them choose the right curtain headings or style of blind and also take the mystery out of measuring windows so my customers know how much material they need, and can suggest good places to buy fabric.
Services
My aim is to provide you with beautiful custom made curtains to a consistently high quality.
I achieve this by doing much of the work by hand.
This decision affects the look and style of the completed curtains, but our guide to Curtain Headings should help to de-mystify the topic.
It's difficult to be too prescriptive, but the standard curtain heading tends to be pencil pleat, pinch pleat headings are often associated with more traditional decor and headings such as eyelet and tab top provide a modern and comtemporary feel to interior decor.
If your curtain fabric is in good condition then why not re-use it - especially if you are moving house, or giving a particular room a make-over.
With our help, your old curtains can be made to look as good as new!
We provide this service anywhere in the UK and, even allowing for courier costs (which we are happy to advise on), you are likely to find that getting curtains altered represents a really cost-effective option.
Existing curtains can be shortened or lengthened, made wider or narrower.
It's surprising what a difference those little touches can make to the final look of a room.
So having got your made to measure curtains in place, there are a number of accessories that we can make to go with them.
Below are just some of examples.
Tie-backs are a great way to hold curtains clear of the window to enable as much light in the room as possible.
We would particularly recommend tie-backs if the material you have chosen is a heavy bulky fabric.
There are a variety of different types of tie-backs.
Having decided on made to measure curtains, we will need to know what type of curtain heading you would like, and there are many to choose from.
Double pinch pleat curtains hang in columns and will emphasise the height of your room.
They will require a greater width of curtain fabric than the standard pencil pleat heading.
Metal or plastic eyelets are pressed onto the fabric which are then threaded over the pole.
This type of heading allows the curtains to hang in neatly defined folds, creating a sleek and streamlined look.
Adding a lining to made to measure curtains helps to protect the main fabric, allows curtains to hang well and of course is effective in filtering light.
There are a number of options for lined curtains depending on exactly what you want to achieve, the room in which the curtains hang and to some extent the weight of the curtain fabric.
It is worth highlighting that linings are a good idea not only for curtains but for roman blinds as well.
If you need to keep draughts and cold out and would like to save on the fuel bills by reducing energy loss, then thermal lined curtains are recommended.
