Sartorial Soft Furnishings is a made to measure curtains, blinds and accessory making service based in Whiteley, South East Hampshire. It is a small business run by myself, Kate Lugg, and specialises in a personalised service producing superior quality, custom made, hand finished soft furnishings. I have a City & Guilds qualification in soft furnishings and experience of creating window treatments with a little something extra.

Curtains made by Sartorial Soft Furnishings are bespoke and made just for you.
There is a full choice of headings that can be made to fit your window's design.
It is even possible to make curtains to fit shaped windows or deceive the eye by making short windows look longer or wide windows narrower.
The most widely used Taped heading is pencil pleat.
The fabric is gathered into small pleats, similar to a row of pencils, by tape attached with two parallel rows of stitching.
This is a basic and quick heading and could be used for hanging curtains from a rail or pole.

The rods are placed in pockets formed in the lining.
When using a sheer fabric the rod pockets are formed in the main fabric.
To maintain my level of quality, I use small secret stitches to join the layers together which are almost invisible.
Blinds are fixed to wall along the top edge and have cords spaced across the width to pull up the fabric.
